As we begin this message I want to establish a Scriptural truth about God.  Turn with me to I John chapter 4 and verse 16 and listen to what the Bible says…

I John   4:16   And we have known and believed the love that God hath to

                        us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God,

                        and God in him.

Here we learn that God does not have love, …but instead …God is love.  Listen to what the Bible says in I John 4:8.  The Bible says…

I John   4:8     He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

So here we see again that God is love.  God does not have love, …but instead …God is love.  Praise God!  So God just can’t help but to love you, because God is love.

So the Bible is clear that God is love, but now I want you to read something concerning mankind when God first created Adam.  The Bible says…

Genesis   1:26   And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our

                          likeness: …

Do you know what that means?  It means that at creation, Adam was made in the image of Love

Adam was designed …and wired …to walk, talk, and act in love.  Praise God!  That means that mankind was created and designed to walk, talk, and act in love, just like their Creator, and when you get out of love, you are out of God, and you are going crosswise with the way you were designed, and going crosswise with your design, will impact your decisions, your life, and the longevity of your health, and now Science has some information to show us how that this is true.

I was recently watching the Kenneth Copeland daily broadcast, and he had an amazingly interesting guest named Dr. Caroline Leaf.  Dr. Leaf has been studying neuroscience for about 30 years, but prior to this she was a strong Christian firmly rooted in the Word of God.  She began her studies with the Bible and then let the Bible direct her science, which has led to some amazing ties between Scripture and science and giving a true revelation of just how literal the Bible actually is.  For example, a thought in your brain physically looks like a tree.  These structures are called dendrites and they grow on nerve cells called neurons.  There are about 100 billion neuron cells in the brain and each can have up to 1500 dendrites per neuron. What is amazing is that it has been determined that a good thought and a bad, evil thought look different.  In addition a good thought grows particular proteins and chemistry that are very different from a bad evil thought.  In fact a bad thought, will generate bad proteins and chemistry in your brain effecting cells around this thought, and if you dwell long enough on a bad thought, you can actually impact every cell in your body, and this can lead to sickness and disease; however, if you release that bad thought, and let it go, and then instead take right thoughts, like Scriptural thoughts, then your brain will immediately begin to heal and grow the right chemistries and proteins. You have to purposefully decide what you are going to dwell upon, and if you dwell upon wickedness and evil, then it can literally consume you spiritually, mentally, and physically, because it has been also been found in neuroscience that you were not just spiritually designed to walk in love and forgiveness as the Bible teaches, but you were physically designed to walk in love and forgiveness also.

Dr. Leaf took another step deeper into this issue and talked about quantum mechanics and the brain.  “Quantum” means “energy packets” and “mechanics” means, “how these energy packets interact”.

Let me give you an example of how quantum mechanics are involved in our lives.  Dr. Leaf led me to understand that the brain is made of tissue, the tissue is made of cells, the cells are made of molecules, the molecules are made of atoms, the atoms are made of subatomic particles like protons, neutrons, and electrons, and the subatomic particles are made of elementary particles called quarks and leptons.  On the level of the subatomic particles we are in the realm of quantum mechanics where interactions occur at light speeds.  Some scientist believe that the interaction on the quantum level could occur at speeds as much as 10,000 times the speed of light or more.  To give some idea of how fast this is, light travels at 186,000 miles per second.  That means here in North Carolina you could go to the beach and go the mountains within the same second.  Since the moon is 238,900 miles from the earth, at the speed of light you could travel to the moon and back in 2.6 seconds.  That is moving.  In the brain the interactions that are occurring at the speed of light or faster take on the form of electromagnetic waves, or energy waves, or energy packets.  One electron can sense another electron on the other side of an atom where the distance on an atomic scale is tremendous.  In fact in particle accelerators where these tiny particles are separated even a great distance on our scale, these particles sense each other.  Within an energy level if one electron spins in one direction, the other electron will spin in the opposite direction.  These interactions are called “entanglement”, or Einstein called them “spooky action at a distance”.  So these subatomic particles are “entangled”, but these subatomic particles make up the atoms, that make up the molecules, that make up the cells, that make up the tissue, and that make up the brain and the body, that make up you.

In a human body of about 154 lbs there are almost 7X1027 atoms, which is a 7 followed by 27 zeros, or that is it is seven billion billion billion.  Of this almost 2/3 of the atoms are hydrogen, ¼ is oxygen, and about 1/10 is carbon, which add up to about 99% of the total atoms in your body.  So the electrons of your body are entangled, which means the atoms of your body are entangled, which means the molecules of your body are entangled, which means the cells of your body are entangled sending energy signals throughout your body, but that means that there is an energy in your body, and that energy can be sensed by others, and you can sense their energy.  This is not something weird, but it is how God designed us.  If you stop and think about it, how do you measure “love” and “hate” with a ruler or a thermometer?

Well, the answer is, “you can’t measure “love” or “hate” with classical physics, because “love” and “hate”, “forgiveness”, and “unforgiveness”, and all of those types of interactions …are quantum mechanical in nature.  What does this mean?  It means that relationships …are an entanglement …on the quantum mechanical level.  Even if you are a great distance from someone else, you can be entangled with them with your thoughts and the energy of your being.

Let’s talk about bad thoughts for a moment.  Dr. Leaf pointed out that when you get out of love, when you have thoughts of hatred, evil, or unforgiveness, that thought in you brain looks different from when you have thoughts of love.  All thoughts look like a trees, called dendrites, and they grow on nerve cells called neurons.  While thoughts in general look like trees, thoughts of hatred, unforgiveness, and the like have branches that are chaotic in structure, and they grow the wrong chemistry and proteins at the end of the branches, and if the thought continues to be fed by a person’s choice to dwell upon it, the chemistry from that thought can effect every cell in your body and cause health problems leading up to the shortening of your life.  In fact if you dwell upon bad thoughts long enough, it will actually cause your brain to fold improperly resulting in electrical chaos and confusion.  Turn with me to James chapter 3 and verse 16 and listen to what the Bible has to say about this.  The Bible says…

James   3:16   For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every

                        evil work.

Here we see that where envy and strife is, there is confusion leading to every evil work.  What has happened here is that the person has dwelled upon the envy and strife to the point that their brain folds wrongs causing electrical chaos, which then leads them to make wrong choices and perform evil works.  So wrong thoughts lead to wrong body chemistry, electrical chaos, damage to health, shortening of the life, and wrong actions in the life.

In fact if a person dwells upon evil long enough listen to what the Bible says in true about that person.  The Bible says

II Peter    2:12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and

                        destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not;

                        and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

II Peter        2:13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness,…

Here the Bible says that people that dwell upon evil, continually speak evil, and do evil are as natural brute beast created for destruction.  I once asked the LORD about this, and I earnestly said to Him in my spirit, “LORD, I know that You did not create anyone for destruction”, and I heard so clearly the answer back in my spirit, “I did not create them that way, but it was what they have made of themselves”.  If you dwell upon evil long enough, it will fold you brain improperly, causing electrochemical chaos, and you will end up doing every evil work, and make yourself into a “natural brute beast made to be taken and destroyed”.

Notice something here before we leave this verse.  What did these people who had made themselves natural brute beast do?  Look back at verse 12.  The Bible says…

 II Peter   2:12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and

                        destroyed, speak evil of the things…

These people were purposefully choosing to speak evil over and over and over and over again.  They just talked the evil all the timeWhat does this mean?  It means they were growing evil dendrites.  They were taking evil thoughts.  Turn to Matthew chapter 6 and verse 31 and listen to what the LORD says.  Jesus says…

Matthew    6:31   Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or,

                             What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be

                             clothed?

Here we learn that the way we take a thought …is to say it.  Let me prove this to you.  Start counting in you mind slowly from 1 to 10.  Now, say out loud with your mouth, “Jesus is LORD”.  What happened to your counting?  It stopped didn’t it?  That is because …you took a thought saying.  You just grew a dendrite, a memory, a righteous thought, when you said, “Jesus is LORD”.  So if you want cut down the trees of evil thoughts, …then stop speaking the evil, …for you are enforcing those thoughts and feeding their roots until they get stronger and stronger, and become wired into you thinking, which will be crosswise to the way you were designed, and thus, it will cause problems in your life and health.

One way of thinking about it is that a thought is like freight boat harbored at a dock.  While it is harbored there, it will unload its cargo.  Evil thoughts will unload their cargo of wrong proteins and wrong chemistries affecting every cell in your body …up to the point of changing your DNA, causing sickness and disease and shortening your life.  You have to choose to cut the chord the ties those boats to the dock and push them out to sea.  Turn with me to Matthew chapter 3 and verse 10 and listen to what the LORD says.  Jesus says…

Matthew         3:10   And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees:

                                  therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit

                                  is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Jesus says that if it is an unfruitful tree…, then cut it down and cast it into the fire.  Get that thought out of there.  Purposely stop thinking about it.  If you have to deal with something, …then deal with it, …but don’t allow it to consume your life.  Also realize that to get rid of a thought, …it takes another thought.  Just like we learned when we were counting in our heads and said the phrase, “Jesus is LORD”.  You got rid of the counting by taking another thought.  You can read the Holy Scriptures …out loud …and the rest of your mind will have to be still …and listen.  You can over come a thought with a thought, …by saying it, …and if what you are saying is the Word of God, you can grow right, health producing dendrites in you brain.

Something that I have been blessed to realize is that the Bible really is the Word of God, but after I received this, years later, I had another revelation, and that is that the Word of God …is the will of God.  Praise God!  I used to pray, “LORD” show me Your will”, and finally I realized I had His will in my hand.  It is the Bible.  When you find whatever answer you are seeking in the Holy Scriptures, then you know the will of God concerning a subject, …but …most recently …I have received …another revelation …and that is …that the Word of God …is the thoughts of God.  Praise God!  Do you know that that means?  I can learn to think the thoughts of God after Him.  It is not that I am God, but I can have the mind of Christ, as the Bible says in I Corinthians 2:16, and the way we do this is by thinking God’s thoughts after Him.

God’s Word, God’s will, and God’s thoughts that we think after Him are called a Trivium.  Trivium was actually taught in medieval universities.

At the corners of a triangle you have “grammar (or facts)” , then you have “dialectic (or principles)”, and at the last corner you have “rhetoric (or the full application”.

Now if you think about this, in the corner labeled “facts”, why, that is the Word of God, and that is the input.  In the corner labeled “principles”, that is the processing of the Word that reveals the will of God, but now these two lead to the output, which is the full application, which are the thoughts of God that God intends for us to think after Him and put into motion in our lives.  Praise God!  The Word is the input, the will is the processing, but the thoughts and actions are the output.  God want to the point of the full application of His thoughts, …which is walking in love.

The way to have righteous thoughts is to put the Word of God in place in your mind to replace the evil.  Let the Word of God be your response.  Say and act upon the Word of God, instead of saying and acting upon the evil.

The problem Adam had in the Garden of Eden is that he grew a wrong dendrite and acted upon it.  Adam had the knowledge of good for Adam walked and talked with God, but Adam partook of the knowledge of good and evil and now he had a mix.  He grew wrong thoughts and acted upon them and brought down the curse of sin and death on all of his descendants and creation.

Let’s turn to Isaiah 61 and begin reading in verse 1 and listen to what the LORD says to us.  This is a passage that the LORD Jesus read in the synagogue that the leadership got so mad they were going to throw Him off a cliff headfirst.  Listen to what the Bible says…

Isaiah              61:1    The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the

                                  LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto

                                  the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the

                                  brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and

                                  the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

                        61:2   To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the

                                  day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that

                                  mourn;

Isaiah                 61:3   To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto

                                  them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the

                                  garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; …

Let’s stop here for a moment.  Here the Bible says there are three demonic things that can attack our soul and spirit, and they are ashes, mourning, and a spirit of heaviness.  These three are a progression.  Ashes are obviously the destruction of something that was.  It could be a business, a home, physical health, or relationships.  If you dwell on that loss it leads you to mourning.  Mourning would be for the thing destroyed or for the loss.  It could be grief, or sorrow.  If you stay in mourning, then a third thing will come upon you, and it is a spirit of heaviness, where it is just hard to get up and go in the morning for you literally feel a heaviness in your body.  You have to come to the realization that these three are an attack out of the pit of hell.  Jesus says in John 10:10…

John   10:10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to

                     destroy:

Here we see that Jesus tell us why the devil attacks us with these things, and it is because the devil is trying to destroy us, for we are made in the image of God, and the devil hates God, so the devil hates us, but listen to what else Jesus says in John 10:10.  Jesus says…

John   10:10  I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it

                     more abundantly.

Jesus says that He has come to give us life and life more abundantly.  Let’s go back and look at Isaiah 61 and verse 3 again for while the devil tries to give us three things, God also says that He gives us three things.  Listen again to the verse…

Isaiah              61:3   To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto

                                  them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the

                                  garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; …

Praise God!  Here we see a second progression and that is beauty, oil of joy and a garment of praise.  Let’s look at these one at a time.  The LORD says He gives us beauty in exchange for ashes.  Well, what does this mean?  You have to realize and believe that everyday is a new day with the LORD.

The Bible says…

Lamentations 3:22   It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed,

                                  because His compassions fail not.

                        3:23   They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Here we see that is because of the mercy of the LORD that we are saved, and His mercies are new every morning.  Praise God!  The mercy of God is His Divine favor.  God loves you.  He cannot help but love you, for He is love.  Regardless of what you have ever done, God still loves you, and if you will come to Him, and receive His mercy, He will forgive you if you have done wrong, He will help you to repent, and He will help you get going again.  That is the beauty of the LORD.

Then the LORD says He gives you the oil of joy for mourning.  Have you ever noticed that a wonderful smelling, perfumed oil will just stick all over you, and you just about cannot get it off?  When you receive the LORD’s beauty, God is saying that He is wanting to stick His joy …all over you, …so that you are just anointed with joy, cheerfulness and gladness.  This does not mean that you are happy about the ashes, but it means that you receive your security in your relationship with the LORD, and that will put joy all over you, because …it is not over …until God Almighty says that it is over.  You get up …and go on …with the LORD.  The prophet Nehemiah wrote…

Nehemiah       8:10   …neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your

                                  strength.

Praise God!  Receive that inner joy from the LORD, for the LORD God who made all of creation is moving on your behalf to help you.

The third thing that the LORD gives you is a garment of praise in exchange for the spirit of heaviness. All of us here today have garments on our bodies, but how did they get there?   The way those garments got there …is that you made the decision …to put them on.  Do you know what the name of Billy Graham’s magazine is?  It is “Decision”.  You have to make a willful decision to put on the garment of praise.  It is a choice.

I remember watching brother Kenneth Copeland for years, and just right in the middle of some of His programs He will just raise His hands and start saying, “I praise You, Jesus, I praise You, Jesus”.  What is He doing?  He is making the willful decision to put on the garment of praise.

You have to make a willful choice …to put on a garment of praise.  It does not matter what the situation is.  You can choose to lift your hands and praise the LORD …either for the situation, …or you can choose to lift your hands and praise the LORD …for getting you through the situationEither way, …you can make the choice …to praise the LORD.  You have wear praise …like a garment …and don’t take it off, …even when you come inside.  Raise your hands and praise the LORD …on purpose.

Now let’s return to Isaiah 61 and verse 3 and read it again and this time complete the verse.  The Bible says…

Isaiah              61:3   To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto

                                  them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the

                                  garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they

                                  might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of

                                  the LORD, that He might be glorified.

Oh praise God, look at what this just said.  If you will make the decision to receive the beauty of the LORD, let Him put His oil of joy all over you, and then choose to put on the garment of praise, God says you will be a tree of righteousness.  Does this mean you will then be growing righteous dendrites on your neurons, generating the right proteins and the right chemistries affecting all of your cells and even your DNA leading to health and longevity of life?  The answer is, …“yes”.  Praise God!  The verse says that those thoughts will be the planting of the LORD that you will go and do righteousness and He will receive the glory.  Praise God!

Turn with me to Mark chapter 11 and let’s start reading in verse 22, for I want to show you one of the most powerful verses in the Bible.  Listen to what Jesus says…

Mark    11:22  And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

Mark       11:23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this

                        mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and

                        shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things

                        which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever

                        he saith.

             11:24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when

                        ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Did you hear what Jesus just said?  If you did, then you really need to stop and think about it.  He said that we are to have faith in God Almighty.  That means we are to have “firm, steadfast, unwavering, reliance upon God, and the truth of His Word the Bible”.  Then Jesus says that if a mountain of a problem has come against you, …speak to it …why? …because you are taking a thought saying… and by doing this …you are casting the problem into the sea, …and then He says have no doubt that this will occur, …but put your faith in action and believe, …for believe is faith with legs on it…and then Jesus says …what you have said …will come to pass.  In fact Jesus says that when we pray, we are to put our faith into action …that we have already received the answer, …and then the answer will manifest itself.  Praise God!   This is an extremely powerful passage of the Scriptures, …but now listen to the very next verse

Mark    11:25  And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against

                        any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you

                        your trespasses.

             11:26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in

                        heaven forgive your trespasses.

When Jesus tells us to “forgive” is this a suggestion or a command?  It is a command.  Here we see that receiving the blessing from God …is hinged upon …you choosing …to be obedient to the LORD’s command …to forgive, …but if you choose not to forgive, …then that unforgiveness …is going to keep unloading that ungodly cargo …in your brain, …and you will not receive from the LORD.

Listen to what the Bible says…

II Corinthians   10:4   (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but

                                     mighty through God to the pulling down of strong

                                     holds;)

                          10:5   Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that

                                     exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and

                                     bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience

                                     of Christ;

What are the weapons of our warfare?  The weapons of our warfare are the Holy Scriptures, which is the Word of God.  So what are the strongholds that we are to pull down?  It is the wrong thinking, it is the unforgiveness, it is the evil, it is the bitterness, and these are the things that go against the way you were wired and designed, and cause you brain to warp, going crosswise with your wiring, because you were designed to walk in love.  We are to cast down every imagination or every thought that goes against the knowledge of God, which means, it would go against the knowledge of love.  If that thought is not a love thought, then it is not a God thought, and you are to cast it down, and bring every thought into the obedience of Christ, …which is into the obedience of love.  If it is not a love thought, …put as axe to the root of the tree and cut it down, and cast it away, so that it will not have the opportunity to unload its ungodly cargo into your brain and body.

Listen to what the Bible says in I Corinthians chapter 13 beginning with verse 4.  The Bible says…

I Corinthians  13:4   Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth

                                  not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

                        13:5   Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own,

                                  is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

                        13:6   Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

Here we see that love thinketh no evil, but instead love rejoices in the truth of God’s Word

Listen to what the Bible says in Philippians chapter 4 and verse 8.  The Bible says…

Philippians     4:8     Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true,

                                  whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are

                                  just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are

                                  lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there

                                  be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these

                                  things

Here we see that we are to think on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report.  That is where we are to choose to think, and when we do the LORD will provide for us peace, health, prosperity and general well-being, for this is the “shalom” of God.  We are to think God’s thoughts after Him.  Listen to what the LORD says about His thoughts in Jeremiah chapter 29 and verse 11.  God says…

Jeremiah         29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith

                                  the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give

                                  you an expected end.

Here …God says… that He has thoughts He thinks toward us.  That means that God has plans for our lives.  We can learn God’s thoughts through His Word, …and in His Word and by His Spirit, He will reveal His plan for our lives …to bring us to an expected end.  How can the end be expected?  How can we know how things will end?  Well, it is revealed to us through God’s Word.  Therefore, if you see it in God’s Word, then you can set you expectancy that God’s Word will come to pass, …because God said it.  In addition here we clearly see that God’s thoughts toward us are thoughts of peace and not of evil.  The word “peace” here is a wonderful word for it is translated from the Hebrew word “shalom”, which means, “peace, health, prosperity and general well-being, with nothing missing and nothing broken”.  “Shalom” is all encompassing with goodness intended for every area of your life.  Praise God!  These are the thoughts that God has for us, and these are the thoughts that God wants us to think after Him, and to set our hope and expectancy upon.

Our last verse of the day is Ephesians chapter 5 beginning n verse 1.  Listen to what the Apostle Paul wrote under the influence of the Holy Ghost.  The Bible says…

Ephesians       5:1     Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

Ephesians             5:2     And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath

                                  given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God

                                  for a sweetsmelling savour.

Praise God!  We are designed and wire in the image of God, which means we were designed and wire in the image of love.  God has given us His Word, so that we can know His will and so we can learn to think God’s thoughts after Him.  As we do, God’s Word will straighten out wrong thinking and our brains will begin to heal and put forward right proteins and chemistries that will affect every cell of our bodies, even our DNA, and will result in the shalom of God in our lives with peace, health, prosperity and general well-being as we enable our bodies to live long and healthy lives, letting our light so shine before men, that they may see our good works and glorify our Father which is in heaven.

Perhaps today you have realized that wrong thinking has been unloading its cargo in you brain for years.  Perhaps today you have realized that there are people and situations that you have never forgiven.  Perhaps today you are ready to receive beauty, the oil of joy and the garment of praise from the LORD.  Pray with me and just say…

Praise God!  You have just begun the greatest adventure of your life, for in following and serving God, you will get to see God perform miracles in your life and in the lives of those around you.  Expect good things to happen for God is good and wants good things in your life.  Read God’s word and speak His word in your life for this will release the power of God to begin working on your behalf …to take you from where you are …into God’s best blessings.  Praise God!  Remember, God loves you, Jesus is Lord, and Jesus is coming soon.
