Democrat Wes Moore--Blatant Liar, Blithering Idiot or Both?

Democrat politicians are blatant liars, blithering idiots, or both.  One example is aspiring 2028 presidential candidate, Maryland Governor Wes Moore.  Is it “racist” if a news organization investigates claims made by a candidate trying to advance his political gain?  Moore’s aids accused the Washington Free Beacon of “racism” and claimed its reporting is “weird” when the news organization merely scrutinized Moore’s biographical claims.

Moore has often repeated that his great-grandfather and grandfather were run out of South Carolina in the 1920s by the Ku Klux Klan.  He made this story of his grandfather’s “middle of the night” “secret” “harrowing escape” from the KKK to Jamaica, the center of his speeches during his 2022 gubernatorial campaign with his story being repeated by the Washington Post and Time, where Time stated, Moore is “well acquainted with the case against America.”

However, the Washington Free Beacon investigated this story and found that Moore’s grandfather, the Rev. Josiah Johnson Thomas, was the preacher at a Pineville, SC church in the early 1920s.  The Free Beacon reviewed church records and news reports from the time and found that Rev. Thomas made an “orderly and public transfer” to the island of Jamaica after a prominent pastor died unexpectedly a week earlier.  There was no mention of trouble with the KKK, which operated openly in the 1920s, but did not have a chapter operating in Pineville, SC.

So, is Moore telling the truth or is he a blatant liar?  To further help understand Moore’s character, the Washington Free Beacon reported that Moore claimed he grew up in Baltimore — but he didn’t.   Moore claimed he was inducted into the Maryland College Football Hall of Fame — but the organization doesn’t exist.  Moore claimed he received a Bronze Star for his service in Afghanistan — but he didn’t.  Moore claimed he is an expert on radical Islam based upon his graduate thesis — but he never submitted it to the University of Oxford’s library, and he can no longer locate it.  Lastly, Moore claims he was a doctoral candidate at Oxford — but he has no documentation to support the claim and Oxford refuses to comment.

Let’s pretend for the sake of argument that aspiring 2028 presidential candidate, Democrat Governor Moore, counter to all written accounts, and counter to the character he exhibits, is telling the truth in what he stated concerning his grandfather and great-grandfather being run out of South Carolina by the KKK.  Democrat Governor Moore claims to know his history, but does he know U.S. history?  According to history.com, the Republican Party was founded in 1854 “as a coalition of Whigs, Free-Soilers, Americans and disgruntled Democrats,” all of whom were antislavery and opposed to “the extension of slavery into Western territories.” In addition, this newly formed Republican Party “fought to protect the rights of African Americans after the Civil War.”

Does Democrat Governor Moore not know that Abraham Lincoln was a Republican and it was Republican Abraham Lincoln, who on January 1, 1863, wrote a presidential mandate and executive order, officially called Proclamation 95, but also called the Emancipation Proclamation, that changed the legal status of more than 3.5 million African Americans from being enslaved to free?

That was a Republican that did that!

But what was the Democrat Party doing while the Republican Party was fighting to free Black Americans from the bondage of slavery?  According to history.com, in 1865 Democrats formed the Ku Klux Klan as “resistance to the Republican Party's Reconstruction-era policies aimed at establishing political and economic equality for Black Americans.”  Members of the KKK “waged an underground campaign of intimidation and violence directed at white and black Republican leaders.”  Congress passed legislation to curb KKK terrorism, but history.com says that the KKK met its primary goal and that was the “reestablishment of white supremacy — fulfilled through Democratic victories in state legislatures across the South in the 1870s.”  This looks like what is happening in the U.S. today.

So, the Democrat Party fought against the antislavery Republican Party, Democrats formed the KKK, and Democrats established white supremacy through Democrat politicians getting elected through KKK terror and intimidation in the South, but we’re not done.  In 1871 Congress passed three Enforcement Acts, with the strongest being the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871, which designated certain crimes as federal offenses and authorized the president to arrest individuals and send federal forces to suppress Klan violence.  Again, sounding reminiscent of what President Trump has had to do with illegal alien criminals.

Furthermore, Democrat Governor Moore failed to know U.S. history concerning slavery and Jim Crow.  Social Justice Survival Guide (SJSG) stated that “at the time of the Civil War, all slaveholders were Democrats, or at least no one has found an exception.”  Also, SJSG states, “if any institutions carry burdens of guilt, then let’s get more specific.  It was the Democratic Party in the United States that was most responsible for slavery and Jim Crow.”  It also states that one of the rationales Democrats used to justify slavery was that “blacks were unable to take care of themselves, so slavery was actually good for them.  This attitude sounds reprehensible today,” but this sounds like the same rationale today’s Democrats use to say that we need to suppress voter ID, because Democrats seem to think that people of color aren’t smart enough or capable of obtaining an ID, which most already have, except for illegal alien criminals.

So, historically the Democrat Party was pro-slavery, fought against Republican efforts to free the slaves, Democrats were the primary slave owners, Democrats formed the KKK to cause terror and violence to get Democrat politicians elected, and were largely responsible for the Jim Crow laws.

So, Democrat Governor Moore, if you grandfather and great-grandfather were truly run out of South Carolina by the KKK — then why are you a member of the Democrat Party who was responsible for this disgusting reprehensible action?

Democrat Governor Moore, it you are not telling the truth, then you are a blatant liar, but also Democrat Governor Moore, if you are telling the truth, then your membership with the group that committed those atrocities of which you spoke, exposes you as a blithering idiot.  So, which is it Democrat Wes Moore — blatant liar, blithering idiot or both?  Perhaps those reading this article will pick, “both.”

Politicians like Governor Wes Moore make authors ask the age old question, “Is this really the best Democrats can do?
