Are Allah and YHWH the same?

The Bible teaches about turning the other check, forgiveness, long-suffering, extending mercy, and helping even your enemy, but the Bible also speaks to the LORD bringing vengeance upon wicked people who brutally attack His people.  In II Peter 2:10 the Bible says, But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption.  Praying about this, I said, “LORD, I know that You made no one to be taken and destroyed”, and clearly, I heard in my spirit, “I did not make them that way.  It is what they have made of themselves.”  Please note the Bible says that they shall utterly perish in their own corruption indicating they perish because of what they have chosen to do and the world they have created around themselves.  Their own evil comes upon them and destroys them.

There are people on this earth who have made themselves natural brute beasts that will be taken and destroyed.  I think Jesse Watters put this well when he stated that this new war in the Middle East is between humanity and pure evil.

Something Westerners have to realize, and Hamas knows well, is Allah of the Qur’an is not the God of the Bible or the Torah (which consists of the first five books of the Bible.)  The God of the Bible in the Old Testament and the Torah has the name YHWH, which is called the Tetragrammaton.  No one knows how to pronounce this name, as it has no vowels.  Jewish students were taught to say, “My LORD” when they came to the Tetragrammaton in Holy Scriptures.  King James Bible translators followed this Jewish teaching and when they came to YHWH translated it as “LORD” in all capital letters.  This occurs 6828 times in the Old Testament of the King James Bible.  It was not until 6th -10th century when assembling the Hebrew Bible (Masoretic Text or Masorah) that Jewish scholars took the vowel signs (jots and tittles) from Adoni and Elohim to make the “a” and “e” sounds to form the word “Yahweh” or in Greek “Jehovah”, which is a variant of “Iehovah”.

While this is what occurred, in the original texts of the Old Testament the name of God was YHWH.  This is significant.  In John 19:19 we learn Pontius Pilate put a title on a plaque above Jesus’ head on the cross.  The title was written in three languages.  King James Bible readers will see that the translators put this title in all capital letters, just like they treated the name “LORD” in the Old Testament.  In English this title says, “JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS”.  In Latin, it says, “Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum”, which is why we see INRI on many Catholic crucifixes, as this is an acronym for the Latin.  In Greek the title would read, “Iesous o Nazoralos o Baslleus ton Ioudalon,” which yields the acronym “INBI” observed above the head of Jesus in many Greek orthodox churches.  The last language for which this title was written is Hebrew.  “JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS” written in Hebrew is, “Yeshua Ha’Nazarei W’Melech Ha’Yehudim”.  An acronym of the Hebrew yields “YHWH”, which is the Old Testament name of God that no one knows how to pronounce.  I do not think YHWH is missing vowels.  I think it is an acronym.  That is why the Scripture says in I Corinthians 2:7 and 8, “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.”  Jesus’ identity was hidden on His First Coming to the earth, but it will not be hidden on His Second Coming.

Obviously, there are close ties between Christianity and Judaism.  In fact, the Bible is a Jewish book, written by Jews, to Jews, about a Jew named, Jesus.  This being true, Christians and Jews have been responsible for the greater part of the humanitarian help given to the world, because they are seeking to follow and be a reflection of the God they serve.

Likewise, Hamas seeks to follow Allah of the Qur’an.  In the Qur’an in at least 13 places it says that Allah has no son.  This is in direction opposition to the Bible for even in Proverbs 30:4, written 700 years before the birth of Jesus, it says that God has a Son.  The book of Isaiah, in 7:14 and 9:6 both teach concerning the Son of God, again written 700 years before Jesus was born.  In fact, Jesus fulfilled 333 Old Testament prophecies containing 456 facts on His first coming to the earth, which is mathematically impossible to have happened by chance.

There are many more teachings of the Qur’an that are very different from the teachings of the Bible or the Torah.  For example, the Qur’an teaches that you are to “kill the infidel” where it specifically says strike off their heads (Sura 9:5, 47:4).  “Infidel” is defined as anyone who thinks there is another God other than Allah and another prophet other than Mohammed.  This is why followers of the Qur’an can fly airplanes into buildings screaming, “Allah is great”, and chop the heads off of Israeli babies shouting, “Allah is great.”  They are following the teachings of the Qur’an.

Everybody decides what to believe and follow, and in this case, it is either YHWH or Allah.  Some decisions result in humanitarian deeds and other decisions do not.  I once heard a man say something like this, “If your religion doesn’t change you for the good, then maybe you should change your religion.”  I agree with Joshua 24:15, which says, but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
